M.M. Dillon & Co. Forms New Energy Group

STAMFORD, Conn.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Today M.M. Dillon & Co. announced the addition of an Energy investment banking team. The group will focus on transactions for Small Cap Services and E&P companies. Joining M.M. Dillon & Co. are Charles S. Weiss as Senior Advisory Director, James B. Hanson as Managing Director, and Carl A. Miller as Vice President.

Chad Weiss is a Founder and Managing Partner of JOG Capital Inc., a private equity concern which invests in the energy sector. Prior to establishing JOG Capital, Mr. Weiss spent more than 25 years as an investment banker serving the energy industry. Mr. Weiss served as Managing Director and Head of Royal Bank of Canada's Energy Group. Before joining RBC, Mr. Weiss was the Managing Director and Head of the Energy and Power Group with Bank of America Securities, and held a similar position with Smith Barney, Inc., from 1985 to 1998. Mr. Weiss obtained a B.A. in Physics from Vanderbilt University and an M.B.A. from the University of Chicago Graduate School of Business.

Jim Hanson has over 20 years of investment banking experience, with 15 years in energy investment banking. Mr. Hanson spent the majority of his career at bulge bracket investment banks, including Citigroup (formerly Salomon Brothers), Bear Stearns and Barclays Capital. During that time he advised a wide variety of large cap and mid cap energy companies in M&A and public capital markets transactions, raising over $25 billion for his clients. He most recently led the energy practice at Houlihan Lokey. Jim has an MBA from the Wharton School of Business, a BS from the University of Illinois, and holds the CFA charter.

Carl Miller began his investment banking career in the Oil and Gas Group at JPMorgan in 2001 and has executed a wide variety of M&A, capital raising, and fairness opinion transactions for energy clients during his career. After JP Morgan, Mr. Miller joined Houlihan Lokey where he was a member of the Energy Group working with Mr. Hanson. Mr. Miller earned an MSc in Accounting and Finance from the London School of Economics, an MBA from the Kenan-Flagler Business School at the University of North Carolina, and a BA from Brigham Young University.
