Firm History

The predecessor of M.M. Dillon & Co. was CRT Investment Banking, which was formed eight years ago by a group of senior Wall Street executives to complement the existing sales, trading and research business of CRT Capital Group. This investment banking startup within CRT Capital Group grew into an integrated corporate finance and M&A advisory business unit originating and executing over 100 transactions across the full spectrum of industries. CRT Investment Banking functioned as a key part of CRT Capital Group until January 2009 at which time the investment banking partners funded a management buyout of the investment banking business.

The business plan since the independent formation of CRT Investment Banking was to create a successful spin off that was seamless in its transition to our clients. The initial step in the plan was to maintain a common name with its distribution partner, CRT Capital Group. With this milestone achieved, the partners of CRT Investment Banking changed the name of the firm to M.M. Dillon & Co. in November 2010.
